What this might look like
Past experiences and life transitions can quietly shape how you respond to the present. You might notice:
- Feeling more sensitive or having emotional reactions that feel hard to manage
- Flashbacks, intrusive thoughts, or difficulty sleeping
- Feeling on edge, hypervigilant, or emotionally numb
- Difficulty trusting yourself or others
- Feeling unlike the person you used to be
- Struggling after motherhood, relationship changes, or major losses
- A sense of being stuck even when things look fine from the outside
How Louise works with this
Beginning therapy for trauma can feel like a big step. It's completely okay to feel unsure, or not know where to start.
Louise takes a gentle, steady approach, working at a pace that feels manageable for you. Early on, the focus is on helping you feel more settled and building skills to manage difficult thoughts, emotions, or physical responses when they arise.
As therapy progresses, you'll begin to make sense of how past experiences may still be shaping how you think, feel, and respond in the present — especially in moments where reactions feel intense, confusing, or hard to control.
Together, you'll gently work through these patterns, helping you develop new ways of understanding what happened and how it has affected you. Over time, this can reduce the intensity of distress, ease self-blame, and help you feel more grounded and like yourself again.
Throughout the process, there is a strong focus on building skills you can rely on — so that whatever comes up, you feel more able to cope with it.
Areas Louise works with include:
- Trauma and difficult past experiences
- PTSD and trauma-related symptoms
- Depression or low mood connected to life events
- Parenthood and identity transitions
- Grief, loss, and relationship changes
- Major life changes and uncertainty
